Do you know this spider?

HELP!  Can you identify this (slightly damaged - missing leg) spider?





Mrs. Brancheau brought this spider in wondering if any of our outstanding New Lothrop students could identify it.  Please post a comment below if you can find an internet resource that helps you identify this poor soul that needs medical attention (please copy and paste the URL of the resource in your comment).

    you r correct IAmBatman it is a araneus diadeatus or it is also called a european garden spider i found it when i looked up spider types in michgan with a red back on google chrome
